Michael Williams
Michael Williams is the founder and editor of the natty men’s style website and shop A Continuous Lean (a nautical term for “listing”), an insider’s favorite that offers a nostalgic, Kodachrome-tinged take on clothing, design and Americana. A connoisseur of provenance, Williams has made it his personal mission to champion domestic manufacturing, and in 2008 created The American List, a resource of fashionable clothing made entirely in the United States. The Ohio native is particularly serious about quality craftsmanship and teamed up this fall with Hamilton, based in Houston, Texas, on a small line of woven shirts, and with London Undercover on a special cashmere scarf (double-layered) and an umbrella (in traditional blackwatch plaid). And that’s just his extra-curricular activities—during the week, Michael works on the factory floor at his PR firm Paul + Williams in New York City.
