Chris Wallace

profile picture

Although he attended college on a football scholarship, the Los Angeles-born, New York-based writer Chris Wallace was drawn toward the creative life from an early age. Having written fiction, non-fiction and short films, many of which he also directed, Wallace is also a contributing editor at Gilt Man, and writes frequently for i-D, GQ, Nylon, The New York Times T Magazine and Bomb. He recently completed a novel, The Chameleon, as well as a cycle of short stories inspired by Borges. His 2003 short film, Carnival Sun, about a sculptor grappling with his self-destructive impulses (“a terribly self-serious affair, as you might imagine,” deadpans Wallace) won Best Actor at the San Francisco International Film Festival and Best Realization at the Brussels Film Festival. He’s currently at work on an epic adventure novel.
