Christopher Bollen

profile picture

As a writer and editor for art and cultural publications, Christopher Bollen has patrolled the streets of downtown New York for more than a decade, serving as editor of the deafeningly fashionable V Magazine for eight years before taking over from Ingrid Sischy at Interview in 2008 (he’s now Editor-at-Large there). A graduate of Columbia University and native of Cincinnati, Bollen has interviewed a plenitude of NYC icons, from literary lions Norman Mailer and Joan Didion, to small-screen heartthrob Chace Crawford. He writes regularly for ArtForum, The New York Times Magazine and The Believer, and co-edited Artists, a monograph documenting creative types in their work environments, with Alix Browne and Jason Schmidt. Bollen’s debut novel, Lightning People, will be published at the end of 2011; he’s already at work on a second.
