See the Ultimate Picks From Our Travel Photography Competition
From culture moments in Caracas, Venezuela, to panoramic views seen from Shanghai’s The Bund waterfront, the finalists from our latest reader competition, Your Secret Cities, are revealed in today’s series. Submissions were narrowed down to ten from 1100 entries by a public vote, before experts Marcus Gaab of I Love You magazine, photographer Brigitte Lacombe, fashion animator Quentin Jones, filmmaker Zoe Cassavetes and James W. Mataitis Bailey of the influential blog Yimmy's Yayo, selected a Grand Prize winner, London-based Zoë Vintilescu. A native of Sweden, Vintilescu captured the winning shot on 35 mm film during a road trip across the southern US with friends. “We found it funny that you could be in two different time zones on each side of the dam,” she explains of the clock tower in Hoover Dam, set on the desert border of Arizona and Nevada. “We kept running across thinking we’d travelled through time.” Vintilescu has won a $2500 gift card for a stay at any Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts property across the globe.
