The Fashion Elite Swarm to Admire Victoire de Castellane's Floral Creations
To kick off Paris fashion week last night, the Gagosian gallery unveiled Fleur d’Excès, the debut solo exhibition of Dior Haute Joaillerie designer Victoire de Castellane. A well-heeled crowd dropped by to ogle the artist's glittering sculptures, including shoe designer Bruno Frisoni, erotic jeweler Betony Vernon, newly appointed editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris Emmanuelle Alt, novelist Danielle Steel, and stylists Carine Roitfeld, Anastasia Barbieri and Catherine Baba. Afterwards the party moved to the Romanian embassy where guests such as YSL designer Stefano Pilati, the IHT’s Suzy Menkes, models Abby Lee Kershaw and Karmen Pedaru, and it-girls Eugenie Niarchos and Alexia Niedzielski feasted on canapés while being serenaded by traditional folk musicians.
