Members Only Mitte

Soho House Arrives in Germany

Capitalizing upon the recent influx of art world elites into Germany’s capital city, Soho House owner Nick Jones is opening a new outpost of his private members club in Berlin this spring. Located in the fashionable Mitte district, Soho House Berlin occupies a listed late-Bauhaus building and former department store. Having lain derelict for the past 12 years, the site has been revamped to bring it into line with Jones’s other venues in London, New York, and now Los Angeles (Soho House West Hollywood opens this week). Newly fitted with some of Soho House’s trademark luxuries—a roof top pool, a cinema and 40 extravagantly furnished guest rooms—as well as work from artists including Cyprien Gaillard, Thomas Helbig, and Susan Hiller, the once-neglected building is fully reborn as a chic Berlin nightspot this May.
