When blonde bombshell Brigitte Bardot walked barefoot into the public consciousness in Roger Vadim’s 1956 film And God Created Woman, she caused an international sensation—whipping censors into a frenzy with her portrayal of female sexuality. She went on to star in over 50 films, single-handedly start innumerable fashion fads and release a series of albums and songs. To coincide with her 75th birthday on September 28, London’s James Hyman Gallery are mounting an exhibition of photographs of Bardot, including iconic images from the likes of Sam Levin as well as previously unpublished works.
