At Manish Arora’s most recent show in Paris, his otherworldly clothes were enhanced by animatronic insects and orchids. He took the vibrancy and overwhelming sense of color of traditional India and completely reinvented it. Arora is just one of the creative designers to have emerged from India’s contemporary fashion scene. As new book Contemporary Indian Fashion shows, designers such as Rajesh Pratap Singh and Ashish N Soni have fused imagination with Indian technical skill to produce clothes that are shaping the future of design.
