Juergen Teller: Logisch!

Overexposed and saturated with lurid, almost impolite colour, Juergen Teller's photographs have offered a warts-and-all alternative to the glossy fashion image since the mid-eighties, when he moved to London and began shooting for magazines such as I-D and The Face. Known for his ability to draw out the wilder emotions of his models—including such disparate personalities as Kurt Cobain, Victoria Beckham and Harmony Korine—he brings a sense of rebelliousness and joy to all his work, whether personal or commercial. A new retrospective of Teller's work, incorporating his three newest series of photographs, opens this week at Germany's Kunsthalle Nurnberg.
