An Intimate Diary
Roxanne Lowit: Dior Backstage
Since taking the helm of the venerable house of Dior in 1997, John Galliano has created some of the most outrageous and extravagant outfits ever seen on a runway—anyone in doubt of this fact should revisit his latest couture offering, an unashamedly over-the-top take on Monsieur Dior's lavish "New Look" of 1947. Photographer Roxanne Lowit fell victim early to the Galliano bug, and has been following the British designer backstage for the last ten years. The results of her obsession—a series of lavish, intimate photographs—are collected in Dior Backstage, available now from Teneues.
