Bright Nights

Eindhoven’s Glow Festival

The light bulb was invented a mere 130 years ago but has fundamentally transformed the world and its inhabitants. From outer space, the USA, Europe and Japan now dazzle with their luminescent density. Between November 6 and 15 the city of Eindhoven in the Netherlands becomes even further transformed by interventions, installations, performances and events based around artificial light in the fourth Glow Festival, a Forum of Art and Light in Architecture. The festival plays host to international artists and designers including Mexican artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, fashion designer Su-Wen Leong, and lighting designer Berry van Egten.
