Slavoj Žižek in Examined Life

It’s not easy to make the meaning of life accessible. But Slavoj Žižek—the writer, psychoanalyst, philosopher and pop culture enthusiast—manages to do just that. The Slovenian thinker features in Examined Life: Philosophy in the Streets, a fascinating documentary directed by Astra Taylor, which focuses on nine philosophers as they discuss ideas of their choice walking the streets of New York. Cornel West compares philosophy to blues in the back of a cab while Peter Singer discusses consumption down Fifth Avenue. Žižek, always the charismatic provocateur, chooses this as a moment to discuss our relationship with the environment. http://www.ica.org.uk
