Werth A Look

Ellen von Unwerth:Fraulein

Born in Germany, in 1954, Ellen Von Unwerth has become one of the most influential fashion photographers in the world in the past few decades. Her photographs of female icons—including Kate Moss, Dita von Teese and Carla Bruni— gleefully celebrate sexuality and femininity, often exploring fantasies and featuring risque “props” such as riding crops and handcuffs. As well as a impeccably precise photographic eye, she has a talent for teasing out the wilder nature of her subjects, who she seems to bend to her will with humor and a delectable sense of voyeurism. Her new book Fraulein is available now from Taschen.
